Virtual fence collar for pasture In development

meraq

Your herd on pasture, your mind at ease.

Since the first herd. meraq is a smart collar that works quietly around the necks of your cattle, sheep and goats. While your herd grazes freely, you know exactly where it is; if one crosses the boundary, the news is on your phone in an instant.

Draw on the map, protect in the field.

Simply trace your pasture on the map with your finger. As an animal nears the boundary, the collar calls it back, first with a sound, then with a gentle vibration; no fright, no electric shock. And if one still steps outside, you are the first to know.

  1. Fit

Fit the collar around the animal’s neck; its location starts arriving at regular intervals.

  2. Draw

Mark the pasture, the highland grazing or the plot you want to rest on the map.

  3. Get notified

See at once which animal has left the boundary, where it is and when it went out.

Draw the boundary on the map; any animal that leaves the fence arrives on your phone as a notification.

Out of sight, never out of mind.

The herd spends the day on pasture; its location, every moment, on your screen. With meraq, uncertainty gives way to knowledge.

Loss and theft

You notice an animal leaving the herd before it goes missing.

Time and effort

The herd’s location, at every moment, on a single screen; the time and effort spent searching shrink to a minimum.

Pasture management

You divide your grazing land into zones; rested pasture grows green again.

Where the fence ends,meraq begins.

The steep slope where no wire can run, the farthest corner of the highland pasture, the plot you leave to rest… Every place you outline on the map becomes safe grazing for your herd.

With a wire fence

  • Posts, wire and labour; all over again for every new plot
  • Hard to put up on steep slopes and in woodland
  • Its line is set once and is not easily changed
  • If an animal gets out, you only find out by going there

With meraq

  • You draw the boundary on your phone, in a few taps
  • Hillside, highland pasture, woodland edge; wherever you draw on the map, that is the boundary
  • You change the grazing area with the season and the state of the pasture
  • If one crosses the boundary, you know that very moment

For cattle,for sheep and goats.

From cows to sheep, from heifers to goats: for every animal on pasture, the same map, the same alerts, the same peace of mind.

Cattle

For cows, heifers and young cattle. On wide pastures and in the highlands, you always know where your herd is.

Sheep and goats

For flocks of sheep and herds of goats. When the flock grazes spread out, you notice a stray before it goes missing.

One collar, modules to suit your needs.

Every collar starts with the virtual fence and location. Whatever your herd needs, you can add that module; each one is a sealed device with its own battery and fits easily onto the collar. All the information sits in the equlaq portal, alongside your herd’s health records.

Virtual fence and location

At the heart of every collar. It continuously reports the animal’s location and alerts you at once if one crosses the boundary.

Ambient temperature and humidity

Follows the temperature and humidity around the animal, so you can see heat stress early.

Heart rate

Follows the heart rate while the animal is at rest, offering an additional indicator of stress and overall wellbeing.

Emissions module

Produces field data on the herd’s greenhouse gas emissions, backing carbon reports with measurement.

How does an animal get used to a virtual fence?

An animal approaching the boundary first hears a sound; if it keeps going, it feels a gentle vibration. Over time, animals learn these cues and turn back on their own when they reach the boundary. meraq uses no electric shocks.

Can it be used with sheep and goats?

Yes. meraq is being developed for flocks of sheep and goats just as much as for cattle; both are followed on the same map, from the same screen.

Does it work with equlaq?

Yes. meraq uses the same portal as equlaq; location and boundary alerts appear on the same screen as your herd’s health records.

Who owns my data?

You own the records you enter in the portal. Information that identifies you and your farm is protected under KVKK, Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law, and is not shared with third parties without your consent.
